ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
The Dumont project has completed the provincial and federal environmental assessment process. The environmental and social impact study on the Dumont project is the main document that was submitted to the responsible authorities. This study is a detailed description of the environment in which the project will be developed and evaluates the effects on the environment and communities, in order to identify and analyze potential impacts on the environment and identify measures required for any necessary mitigation or compensation.
Magneto Investments L.P. places particular importance in consultation with communities and stakeholders. This approach is reflected in, among other things, integration of the results of the information gathering and consultation process into the final impact study. The contributions of the advisory committee and discussions with the public have been included in the impact assessment and in the development of mitigation and compensation measures that correspond to the needs and expectations the host communities.
This voluntary consultation process preceded the Quebec assessment and review of environmental impact process, within the framework of the Ministry of Environment and the Fight against Climate Change and the Bureau d'audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE). At the conclusion of this process, the Quebec government approved the Dumont project through a ministerial decree on June 17, 2015.
The federal Minister of the Environment issued a positive environmental assessment decision on July 29, 2015, finding that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects, taking into account mitigation measures outlined in the comprehensive study report and the mitigation measures and follow-up programs described in the comprehensive study report are appropriate for this project.

MONITORING COMMITTEE
As part of the development of the Dumont project, a consultative approach was developed with stakeholders. Magneto Investments L.P intends to continue this process to ensure effective communication and dissemination of information. The implementation of a monitoring committee is a major step in continuing this effort.
The monitoring committee will be established when the decision to begin the construction phase is made and will be done in collaboration with project stakeholders. Magneto Investments L.P. will present a proposal for its establishment at a public meeting and will seek balanced representation taking into account various aspects of sound sustainable development practises. The proposal will be discussed and approved with the participation of interested persons. The membership and representation on the monitoring committee will therefore vary according to the expectations of the participants.
Monitoring and surveillance program
Throughout the life of the project, an environmental monitoring program will be implemented to ensure compliance with the operating conditions that will be dictated by the federal and provincial authorities and will monitor multiple components of the environment and social environment.
The results of environmental monitoring will be submitted to the ministries concerned and the monitoring committee ensure a satisfactory approach to monitoring impacts of the project. This monitoring committee, as well as the community relations outreach and an ongoing communications program will inform residents about the project's environmental performance.
